The Central Asian Ovcharka - cares and training
History This breed is ideal for who... Cares and training

The Central Asian Ovcharka does not need particular cares. It is a robust and rustic dog that well stands both the heat and the cold, used by ages of frugal life to eat and drink when it is possible (it is obvious that we are referring to a dog living in an half-wild state). It is often treated like a teddy bear, cuddled like a sofa-dog!

We must try to make our dog in the most natural way possible, giving it abundant but balanced meals, sometimes brushing it, and if possible making it sleep outdoors on a board, sheltered from the rain (and if it wants to sleep on the ground and it will enjoy watching the rain, never mind: when it will grow up this habit will not be harmful for it, on the contrary it will get a benefit for its fur). We shall worry as less as possible about its health that is normally very strong and a bit more about its education. This breed is usually easy to train for the basic obedience and with some subjects it is possible to get good results also at a more advanced stage of the training. The biggest problem is to find a trainer able to bring out the natural characteristics of the dog without using standard training methods, but having as point of reference the specific breed memory of the "P.dell'A.C."

A subject of this breed can give you many satisfactions, but I think that the most fascinating thing is the similarity with the dog of our childhood's fables: big, great, reassuring, ready to run when we ask for help!
