I'm deeply sure that if a dog is healthy and well-balanced it becomes exactly as we desire; no dog of any breed if breeded with common sense will change into a wild beast, unless the dog's master, even unconsciously, tries to make up for his wants by setting his dog against external stimuli in an excessive way.

Thanks to my experience I can affirm that these dogs are wonderful indeed with people if they are accostumed to socialize since their birth, they are docile with children and generally well-bred and thoughful.

They don't bear brusque liberties taken by strangers (...unfortunately some judge of the ring verified it himself); the approach must be delicate without showing aggressive intentions. A stranger shall not stare at an adult Caucasian Mountain Dog; this is a challenge and a provocation that it exclusive acceptes from its master.

In spite of its size, certainly il will be able, without any difficulty, to adjust itself to live in a flat together with its beloved master, in fact it is often a lazy dog, and it prefers to be patted rather than to do some movement (even if some healthy walks are absolutely necessary indeed).

I recommend this kind of dog to anyone and for several reasons and uses; guard, play, company, defense and many others, maybe it's easier to say who this breed is unsuitable to.

It's unsuitable to those who do not want to dedicate any time to the dog-dog's master relationship, to those who do not want to acquaint his new friend with his life, to those who intends to use this wonderful breed to frighten his friends or on the contrary to anyone who needs only a soft and spiritless toy.

Lastly to those who are not able to establish the role of dog's master to his dog with kindness and determination too (I think that no breed is suitable to this kind of person!).

Now I'm trying to describe these dogs to those who do not know this breed by coveying sensations rather that mentioning weights and measures.

Even if the Caucasian Mountain Dog looks charming, since it's a puppy, you will really appreciate it when it will be adult. While you are observing a typical exemplar of this breed you might immediately notice the liveliness, the intelligence, the stately walk, the country beauty of a dog formed by the hardness of the health and the historical conditions.
In the eye of a grown-up male dog you might find ice and fire, but if you're looking at your dog then you'll find devotion and accomplicity too; never submission. A Caucasian doesn't need to obey a dog's master, it needs to respect a pack leader; only the person who's got the courage of sharing his life with a rough boaster and of laughing at some superdog attitudes that sometimes this scamp of a dog assumes will be the perfect dog's master and friend of a Caucasian Mountain Dog.
